Villa Aster
Description
Perched above the shimmering waters of Lake Como, Villa Aster is a study in sculptural serenity. Designed in 1972 by a Milanese architect deeply influenced by Carlo Scarpa, the 4,300 sq ft residence was reimagined in 2021 to celebrate light, tactility, and panoramic lake views.
The entry opens to a vast living pavilion wrapped in sliding glass walls, revealing a floating terrace that frames the Alps beyond. Exposed travertine, warm brass details, and oiled oak cabinetry lend the interiors a quietly opulent tone. A cantilevered fireplace anchors the sunken lounge, while the dining space flows into a gallery kitchen clad in brushed stainless steel and Calacatta Viola marble.
The master suite occupies the entire eastern wing — a private library nook, retractable corner glazing, and a terrazzo soaking tub facing the lake define its calm grandeur. Below, two ensuite guest rooms enjoy garden access and share a breezy courtyard. A hidden wellness level includes a private gym, steam room, and media lounge — all opening onto the heated infinity pool carved into the hillside. Every square meter of Villa Aster is designed to heighten presence, peace, and place.
